Alicia Maldonado (President): Alicia Maldonado is President of Mockingbird Communications. She brings over 25 years of experience and expertise in strategic planning and communications, media relations, community outreach, organizational development and collaboration with coalitions on social reform issues. Prior to starting her own company, Alicia was part of the winning team of professionals at the premier public affairs advocacy firm GCG Rose & Kindel in Los Angeles and worked as the Senior Director of Communications and Public Policy for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF). Alicia earned her Masters’ Degree in Communications Management from the USC Annenberg School for Communications.

Marisa Perez (Secretary): Marisa Perez is an Associate Director for Transportation in the Office of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa, where she develops and implements the Mayor’s transportation agenda at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Los Angeles Department of Transportation. Marisa also served as a budget and policy advisor to President George W. Bush in Washington, D.C. and Austin, Texas. Marisa received a Masters of Public Policy degree from the University of Southern California and a B.S. degree in Bioengineering from Texas A&M University.
Wendy Beatriz Bruget: Wendy Bruget has extensive private consulting experience on government, community and environmental affairs. This experience includes work on public-education campaigns, community affairs strategic plan development and implementation, communications, event planning and stakeholder engagement. Wendy is a native of Santa Barbara, California, and a graduate of University California at Santa Barbara, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science.
Marlyn Garcia: Marlyn Garcia is Hispanic Marketing Director for Time Warner Cable Los Angeles Region. In this capacity, Marlyn is responsible for planning and executing all internal and external Hispanic marketing initiatives across the Southland. Prior to joining Time Warner Cable, Marlyn served as Regional Manager of Public Affairs for Comcast Cable Communications, where she performed a leadership role in executing public affairs strategies that targeted customers, elected officials, and community-based organizations. Marlyn earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration at Loyola Marymount University and a Masters of Business Administration degree.
Monica Rodriguez: Monica Rodriguez joined the California Association of REALTORS® in early 2004 as Manager of the Housing Opportunity Program, charged with the primary responsibility of guiding the program and development strategies of C.A.R.’s recently established Housing Affordability Fund, a non-profit statewide affordable housing trust fund. Previous to her current position, Ms. Rodriguez served as Chief Deputy to Los Angeles Unified School Board President Caprice Young, at a pivotal time in education reform and launch of the largest municipal school construction program in the district’s history. Monica earned her bachelors degree from Occidental College.
Elizabeth Zamora: Elizabeth Zamora is the statewide Foundations Director for the American Cancer Society. Her work aims to improve the quality of life of cancer patients, caregivers and survivors by assisting with direct services, service referrals to facilitate the delivery of health care services, community mobilization and advocacy to provide access to health care to disparate populations. Elizabeth also has extensive experience working in the education and nonprofit sectors to improve academic achievement in Los Angeles public schools. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Elizabeth received her Bachelor's degree from Middlebury College in Vermont and her MBA from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
